From time to time we have Prayer Days or other special times set apart for prayer. These are announced on the News and Events page. We have the following opportunities to pray together available on a regular basis.
- Sunday mornings at 10am in the in the Prayer Lounge. A twenty minute gathering before the worship service to pray principally for the service.
- Sunday evenings as announced. Praise and Prayer - an opportunity to come together in prayer for the community here at Queens Road and beyond. Time is spent in worship, praise and prayer. This takes place in the Servery where there are opportunities for small groups to pray together around tables as well as to unite in the larger group in open prayer and led prayers. The meeting begins at 6pm and is planned to finish at 7pm. Tea, Coffee and cake will be available on a DIY basis from 5.45pm and throughout the meeting.
- First Monday of the month 2pm to 3pm in the Prayer Lounge, prayer for the leadership of the church. This is the part we can all play in support of those whom God has called to serve us, to lead us and to guide us as we seek to be God’s people at Queens Road Baptist Church. Dates occasionally vary - please check the Calendar here. If you cannot be present in person then you could perhaps pray where you are at these times.
- Oasis - Friday morning 10.15am to 11.15am A time spent together in a reflective and contemplative, listening, waiting and receiving way. As in an oasis in the desert, it is a time of rest, shelter and renewal. It is a quiet space where we can step aside from the rush and business of life and just ‘BE’, enjoying the refreshment that God brings to us.We start with an opening prayer and then for about 30 minutes consider a passage of Scripture that one of the group has brought. We then have a sharing time bringing our thoughts together from what we feel God has said to us individually.
