Virtual Postcards

The Idea

We started this page to capture summer activities but there is no reason for it not to continue into autumn and winter.  This year it feels particularly important to keep in touch with others in the fellowship so we are inviting you to send a virtual postcard which we can show on this page. It seems increasingly difficult to buy postcards so this is pioneering the way forward!!

How to do it?

Either

Buy a postcard if you can find one but do not send it; instead write a postcard style message on the back, take a picture of front and back and email to us.

Or write a handwritten note (as if writing a postcard), take a photograph of it and email to us. Send a photo of where you are too if you can.

Or if you are not going to stay away from home you could still join in by sending a note (and photo if possible) of what you are doing locally.

Or any other way you can think of to send your greetings!

If you have bought a real postcard, when you have photographed it for us, you might like to post it to someone who is stuck at home and/or does not have internet access.

In all cases just put your first name on anything to be published so we are not giving away too much information about who is away from home to the wider world.

The Virtual Postcards

A nice few days in the Lake District with our eldest grand-daughter. It was supposed to be a post GCSE celebration but they, of course, did not happen in the usual way....

This is Derwent Water from a viewpoint called Surprise View.

We look forward to seeing other 'cards.'

We've had a wonderful week in Wales. The current restrictions meant we couldn't actually travel on a train but were pleased to see a test train outside our cottage! It was wonderful to have a break, but we appreciated being able to tune into the service and join you all as well.

Love to you all. From Jon, Sarah, Joseph and Benjamin xxxx

Greetings to everyone. Enjoying myself in the sunshine at Costa Del Stonleigh Rd

with love to you all

Hello All,

It's us again - this time in Norfolk. Had a great day out on the Broads seeing a Kingfisher and an Otter in addition to more usual wildlife. We have been blessed with mainly great weather.

Look forward to "seeing" you on Sunday.

David and Barbra

Greetings from Devon.

Hi everyone!

Greetings from Petts Wood, SE London/Kent border.

This picture is a beautiful park, where I've been keeping up my daily walking!

Having a lovely time catching up with my sister, Jill, and my friend, Paula.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to meet my new great nephew Joshua. It's a shame it all has to be at an appropriate distance, but lovely to see them nonetheless.

Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

We haven’t been able to go away yet as Ian is still self isolating so we’re enjoying looking at our balcony.

We have just enjoyed 5 days in Somerset, lots of walking and plenty of beautiful views, the photograph is taken looking across to the Vale of Porlock.  We paused awhile here and to our surprise we were passed by the sauntering riderless horse that can just be seen in the photo, the rider caught up and all was well.

God Bless,

Helen & Kevin x

We’ve enjoyed a fun and restful couple of weeks camping in Northern Ireland, and visiting the Republic of Ireland too. Here are some pictures of the beautiful scenery.

See you all soon.

Having a wonderful time in beautiful Helford Passage, Cornwall!!

The spectacular view from our apartment, looking out to sea along the Helford river and the view as we ate lunch in the sun earlier today.

Just returned from a few days break in North Norfolk.

Blessed with good weather and able to revisit some of our favourite beauty spots. Morston Quay and Blakeney.

Hello Everyone

We have just enjoyed a couple of days on the South coast. It was great to see the sea and walk along the beaches (Studland and Bournemouth beaches were very quiet.... perhaps because the sun disappeared!) but it didn't stop us having a paddle.

Love to everyone..... especially those who haven't been able to get away.

We are enjoying the Scottish border area. The picture is of the River Tweed taken in Coldstream.

Chris and Rita

We are also (like Chris and Rita above) in the Scottish Borders having an excellent time.

The photos are the Viaduct at Berwick, Lindisfarne Castle, a seal off Lindisfarne, a street scene in Edinburgh,  Edinburgh Castle (Day trip by train) and a Kingfisher on the beach at Burnmouth more or less on the Scottish Border.

Greetings to everyone!

David & Barbra
